Dewey's 1906 Definition of Art
In 1906 John Dewey addressed the Joint Convention of the
Eastern Art Teachers Association and the Eastern Manual
Training Association. I presume the meeting was held in
New York City, although I am not sure. His remarks on that
occasion, as they later appeared in the proceedings of the
convention, were entitled "Culture and Industry in
